New Website

So it’s been a very busy month, especially biting off a big project… the website! I’ve been working with my team to update www.mattspencerphotography.com with a new format, style and of course awesome new photos. It was sort of a blast to go through all the old an new work to find what fit best together and was a good over all sampling of my work.

Check out the new website, you’ll see these and other photos added to the galleries and check back from time to time for new content as I’ll be updating more regularly with this new format. Some photos you’ll recognize if you saw the old site and some I haven’t put up anywhere else, so there are some fresh new images you can only see on the website. While you’re there please click on the Facebook link and “like” my fan page while you’re there. I haven’t done a tone of promoting the fan page, but it has been a great way to update people about new projects and share photos… so I think I’ll be using it more and more.

I’m excited about the warm reception I’ve already gotten from the site update. Hope you enjoy it too!

It’s been some time since I’ve had a chance to write a new entry or get anything together to share. I’ve been working a great deal on the I AM EQUAL Project and that takes a great deal of my time, but I do LOVE it.

I have recently had a lot of great shoots, met some cool celebrities, worked with a bunch of new models and a great hair style. It this hair stylist I’d like to focus on in this post.

Amy Freudenberg not only has an amazing eye for unique and beautiful hair, but the chops to pull it off too. It was my pleasure to work with her and the crew at M-The Salon in Salt Lake City, Utah to create a stunning collection of hair photos. The models were great, the hair was beautiful and my assistant Heather was a real trooper.

I arrived on location in the early afternoon while Amy and her team had already been at it since early that morning. When I arrived they were just about ready to shoot their creations. To compliment the amazing hair and make up designer Sophie St. Claire provided a gorgeous collection of dresses. I set up while the last hairs were being put in place, Heather assisting with the awkward things that take two people. As soon as the first girl was ready, we started shooting… shot after shot of stunning images. Models Shenna Steedman, Dani Braun, Kimberly Kuhlmann, Andrea Downie, Kelly Brooke Silvereen, Hillary Ramone and Jennifer Octavio all did such an awesome job.

A Fresh Start

Welcome to the new blog for Matt Spencer photography. The old blog was falling into disrepair and deserved a refreshing, so here we are today. I’m starting fresh for several reasons, one of which has been some wonderful new changes and updates to Matt Spencer Photography, including, but not limited to the new photo campaign of the I AM EQUAL project.

I AM EQUAL is a powerful statement. It’s not about claiming power over anyone, or showing support for any one group of people, but instead about embracing humanity and holding everyone as equals. The website www.iamequalproject.org has a host of information about the campaign as well as resources for informing ourselves about global issues concerning human rights and equality. I’ve been blessed to be a part of this emerging project by giving it a face, more specifically the face of the millions of people out there that share our message and a passion to see everyone treated as an equal.

This is just one of many topics that will unfold as I reach out through my blog to share the passion of my work, the tools I use, the innovations I find interesting and they way I choose to share my contribution to this world. I firmly believe that we are all important and have our own unique gifts, talents and abilities to share with each other. If I can do it, you can too. So let’s all let our unique light shine and share with everyone the beauty and power within. I look forward to your reader ship and would love for you to share, posting comments, following me on twitter and Facebook and any other way that we can connect and honor our commonality.
